SEARCHING FOR PAST CLIMATES
From submerged caves to desert landscapes — exploring the natural archives that reveal Earth's climate history and reshape our understanding of past environments and human migrations.

ABOUT the project
Searching for past climates is a science communication project exploring Earth's climate history through two remarkable scientific expeditions: from the submerged caves of the Caribbean to the deserts of Saudi Arabia.

Following researchers both in the field and in the laboratory, it will explore how natural climate archives preserve invaluable records of past environments. These discoveries allow scientists to reconstruct ancient climates, trace major human migrations, and provide essential insights into the environmental challenges of today. Combining exploration, scientific discovery, human history, and wonder, the project brings cutting-edge research to life for a broad audience.

This feature documentary aims to make this research accessible beyond the scientific community. It will be widely broadcast through web, television, festivals, and scientific conferences. It will also be part of an interactive exhibition specially built around it. Finally, special screenings will be organized for and other targeted audiences
