Ephemeral Mountains

Switzerland offers an exceptional playground for mountain sports enthusiasts, with a wide variety of disciplines available all year round — from mountain biking and climbing to mountaineering, paragliding, skiing, and hiking. Yet these activities are increasingly threatened by the growing impacts of environmental change.

To grasp the full scale of the transformations affecting the Alps, it’s essential to examine the climate dynamics and natural hazards reshaping the region. The “Ephemeral Mountains” project delves into the effects of climate disruption on the alpine environment and the consequences for those who live and play in these landscapes. Through expert insights — from researchers to passionate mountain-goers — the film takes on a clear, educational, and human-centered approach, true to the spirit of our work.

Approximately twenty minutes in length, the documentary will be released online and showcased through interactive public screenings, film festivals, and educational events. It will also serve as a learning tool for schools and institutions aiming to raise awareness of environmental challenges through the lens of mountain sports and the values they represent.
